County Engineer Karen Riggs

Karen is a third generation Arizonan. Her grandmother was born in Cochise County, on a ranch east of Douglas, three years after statehood.
She is a registered Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor in Arizona and has worked for Cochise County three separate times starting in 1986.
She has been working for Highway & Floodplain since 2007.
In between working for Cochise County, she raised two daughters, ranched, developed a grass-fed direct market beef, lamb and chicken business and worked in the private sector in engineering and surveying.
Her hobbies are reading, writing and dancing (not ‘rithmetic, she gets enough of that at work…)
