City of Sierra Vista Impact Fee Review

  • May 12, 2015
  • 2:00 PM
  • City Council Chambers at Sierra Vista City Hall, 1011 N. Coronado Drive, Sierra Vista

The City of Sierra Vista has retained the services of TischlerBise to conduct the required analysis for the review of development (impact) fees for the City of Sierra Vista.

State law and the City's own ordinance requires these fees to be reviewed at least every three years.

On Tuesday, May 12,at 2:00 pm,

a representative of TischlerBise will be conducting a stakeholder meeting in the

City Council Chambers at Sierra Vista City Hall, 1011 N. Coronado Drive.

The purpose of this meeting will be to review the process, and then review the data on future growth and land use assumptions that serves as the basis for fee calculations in the future.  You are invited to attend the meeting and provide your input on the analysis to date.

TischlerBise will also be making a presentation to the City Council at their work session at 4:00 that same afternoon (May 12).  The meeting is open to the public and you are welcome to attend as well.

As you are probably aware, the City of Sierra Vista charges development (impact) fees on all new construction, which are placed in separate escrow accounts to serve as new development's share of the cost of growth in five areas:  transportation, police, fire, library and parks.  Fees collected over the years have contributed to such projects as the Cyr Center Park; Coronado widening north of MLK; Fire Station #3; Police Station expansion; and currently the widening on Avenida del Sol south of SR90, among others.

There will be additional opportunities to participate in the process over the coming months.

If you would like additional information, please contact Mary Jacobs, Assistant City Manager at (520) 439-2147.
