Mayor Rick Mueller, Sierra Vista AZ

Mayor Mueller has a long and sincere relationship with the community began when his parents returned to retire in Sierra Vista and he made the first of many visits starting in 1978. After serving his country in various leadership positions as an Army Field Artillery Officer, he retired from the Army in 1995 and settled in Sierra Vista.
He was born in the U.S. Territory of Alaska to Captain Harold W. Mueller M.D. and Mrs. M. Maxine Mueller R.N. The second of six "Army brats," Rick and his siblings grew up and went to school in many communities in the U.S. and Europe. After graduating from High School in Georgia, he attended the University of Nebraska on a four-year Army ROTC Scholarship, graduating with a B.A. in Political Science and minors in History and English. He is an Honor Graduate of the Defense Language Institute (GREEK), a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College, and has completed postgraduate work in Management.
Rick has been active in many service, civic, and charitable organizations since moving to Sierra Vista. He has served as Chairman of the SEAGO Executive Committee, President of the University South Foundation, President of the Sierra Vista Rotary Club, President of the 1200 Club, and as a Director of the Sierra Vista Historical Society. He is a member of the Huachuca Museum Society, Sierra Vista Symphony Association, MOAA, Honorary Member of the Sierra Vista Lions Club, and has served as a member of the Sierra Vista Citizens' Advisory Committee. He is an Eagle Scout, a member of the Order of St. Barbara, and regularly attends the Sierra Lutheran Church.
